Hourly with a minimum is the normal structure
Almost every stretch limousine and party bus in DFW is rented by the hour with a minimum block. The minimum exists because the vehicle and chauffeur are committed to you for the evening, and a two hour prom run in the middle of a Saturday means the vehicle cannot do a wedding that day. Weeknights and Sundays carry lower minimums than Friday and Saturday, and peak dates (prom weekends in April and May, wedding Saturdays, December weekends and New Year’s Eve) carry the highest.
What moves the price
Vehicle. A luxury SUV costs less per hour than a 10 passenger stretch, which costs less than a 14 passenger party bus. Bigger vehicle, higher rate, but a lower cost per person for a full group.
Day and season. The same limo can be priced very differently on a Tuesday in February and a Saturday in May. If your date is flexible, ask.
Distance. Airport and point to point rides are usually flat rate. A run from Rockwall to DFW, tolls included, should be quoted as one number.
Hours. A prom night is typically five to six hours: pickup, photos, dinner, the dance and the ride home. A wedding can be a three hour block for the bridal party plus a separate guest shuttle.
Fees a good company does not charge
Some DFW limo companies advertise a low hourly rate and then add overtime fees, multi stop fees, fuel surcharges and a 20 to 25 percent gratuity up front. Our reviews mention this because we do the opposite: reasonable stops inside your booked block are included, we do not add fuel surcharges, and gratuity is at your discretion. Ask any company for the all in number in writing before you book.
Gratuity
Gratuity is not included in our quoted rate. Most clients tip the chauffeur 15 to 20 percent, the same as a good restaurant.
